Among the 5 core indices, the Birthday Number is the simplest yet most easily overlooked. Numerology ties each number to its own theme; this is only one way of reading, offered for reference, not a talent or fixed trait of your child.
Calculation
The Birthday Number is just the day of the month (1-31), then reduced:
- Days 1-9: keep as is.
- Days 10-31: add the digits. Except days 11, 22 - preserved (master numbers).
Examples:
- Born on the 5th → Birthday = 5
- Born on the 15th → 1+5 = 6
- Born on the 11th → 11 (master, no reduction)
- Born on the 22nd → 22 (master)
- Born on the 29th → 2+9 = 11 → 11 (master reached, stop)
- Born on the 31st → 3+1 = 4

How is Birthday different from Life Path?
Here's a point many parents confuse:

Illustrative example:
- Child born 15/03/2024: LP = 8, Birthday = 6. In numerology, this pair combines the theme of achievement with the theme of care and responsibility.
- Child born 22/03/2024: LP = 6, Birthday = 22 (master). The system reads this as a mix of the theme of family and the theme of building projects with structure.
Role in naming
The Birthday Number is fixed - it comes from the birth date and cannot be changed. When suggesting names, MiKiName shows this index next to the indices of each name so parents can compare. It is reference information only; numerology has no hard rule that a name must "match" the Birthday Number.
The 11th and 22nd: Two Master Numbers
Of the 31 days of the month, only the 11th and 22nd are kept as master numbers. Numerology ties the 11th to the themes of intuition and sensitivity, and the 22nd to the themes of big vision and the ability to build. This is a symbolic reading only, not a description of the personality or abilities of any particular child.
When does Birthday contradict Life Path?
Big contradictions are rare - because Birthday is a subset of Life Path (LP includes the day). But there are cases:
- LP 1 + Birthday 2: numerology reads this as the theme of leading (LP 1) alongside the theme of cooperation (Birthday 2).
- LP 7 + Birthday 8: the theme of introspection and research (LP 7) alongside the theme of organization and practicality (Birthday 8).
These are only pairs of themes to reflect on; they carry no conclusion about your child's life or career.
