The date of birth gives the Life Path number - fixed, it cannot be changed - and the birth chart: which digits the child already has and which cells are empty. The name gives the other three: Expression from all letters, Soul Urge from the vowels, Personality from the consonants.
The Pythagorean chart assigns A=1, B=2 … I=9 and starts again at J=1. Letters are summed and reduced to a single digit; 11, 22 and 33 are kept as master numbers.
The score measures how well the name harmonises with the birth date: whether Expression and Soul Urge agree with the Life Path, and whether the letters of the name correspond to empty cells in the birth chart. Each core number gets a short note, and the total falls into one of four bands: Excellent, Good fit, Consider, Reference.
A high score does not make a name "right" and a low score does not make it "wrong". The real value is comparing candidates against the same birth date: try the 3-5 names you are considering and read the notes, not just the number.

Enter the surname and given names exactly as they will appear on the birth certificate, including middle names. Expression, Soul Urge and Personality are computed from every letter of the full name, so a missing word changes the result.
