Note: Numerology is not a scientific method and does not predict the future. The material below is one way of reading numbers, offered for reference and reflection. It is not a statement or promise about anyone's personality, health, learning, success or life, including a child's.
If Soul Urge is calculated from the vowels, Personality is calculated from the consonants of a name. Numerology ties this index to the theme of outward image, or the first impression; it is one way of reading, offered for reference, not a firm description of your child.
Calculation: consonants only
After removing A, E, I, O, U, the remaining letters (B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z) are consonants - sum their Pythagorean values to get the Personality Number.
Example "Nguyễn Minh Khôi" → NGUYEN MINH KHOI:
- Consonants: N, G, Y, N, M, N, H, K, H
- Values: 5+7+7+5+4+5+8+2+8 = 51 → 5+1 = 6
→ Personality 6; numerology associates 6 with the themes of warmth and trustworthiness.
Meaning of the Personality Number
| Number | Theme usually tied to the number |
|---|---|
| 1 | Confident, independent, slightly "cool", with distance |
| 2 | Gentle, approachable, friendly, sometimes too yielding |
| 3 | Joyful, smiley, eloquent, a "magnet" |
| 4 | Trustworthy, serious, neat, principled |
| 5 | Dynamic, never still, intriguing, "hard to pin down" |
| 6 | Warm, "parental" vibe, people want to confide |
| 7 | Calm, mysterious, "deep", a depth in the eyes |
| 8 | Ambitious, polished, self-assured manner |
| 9 | Composed, kind, easily respected |
Hard vs soft consonants
In Vietnamese, after diacritic stripping, we can classify:
"Hard" consonants (sounds that feel strong and decisive):
- B (=2), C (=3), D (=4), G (=7), K (=2), M (=4), N (=5), P (=7), Q (=8), T (=2), X (=6), Z (=8)
"Soft" consonants (sounds that feel light and flowing):
- F (=6), H (=8), J (=1), L (=3), R (=9), S (=1), V (=4), W (=5), Y (=7)
Mothers naming girls often prefer soft consonants: Linh, Lan, Hà, Sương, Hồng, Yến - mostly L, H, S. Boys' names usually have hard consonants: Khang, Dũng, Cường, Tuấn, Quang - with K, D, C, T, Q.
This is only a cultural feeling about sound, not a formula or rule of numerology.
When Personality conflicts with Soul Urge
This is the interesting situation - the shell and the heart differ:
- Personality 8 + Soul Urge 2: the system interprets this as a mix of an outwardly strong image and an inner need for harmony - a theme to observe, not a fixed trait.
MiKiName does not prioritize any conflict type over others - because each parent has different goals. Some want a "consistent" child (Personality = Soul Urge), others want a "complex" child (intentional conflict).
Cultural difference: Vietnamese vs Western
In Western culture, people especially attend to the first letter (Cornerstone) and last letter (Capstone) of the name - those are the first/last sounds heard. In Vietnam, because names follow Surname + Middle + Given structure, the first letter of the GIVEN NAME (not the surname) is most important for the Cornerstone.
Can you "change" the Personality Number?
In terms of calculation, yes: each name gives a different Personality Number, including a home name ("Bin", "Bống", "Sữa") that differs from the birth certificate name, which is common in Vietnamese culture. This is only the result of arithmetic; numerology does not claim it changes how others perceive your child.
